Books to Read Before 2018

Hey,

It's me Caitlin. Today I thought that I would let you know the books that are on my to-read list, and my aims is to finish them by 2018. How odd is it to say that, I have a goal that is before 2018, but that isn't too long away. The list has gradually gotten longer as I've discovered more interesting books.

I am currently reading The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens. I will admit that it has taken me longer than I expected to read it, because it takes a lot of concentration, and is not an easy read. I decided to start reading it on the last week in August to read around the authors that I was set for my English Literature A-Level class. I am still reading it, but my goal is to finish it by the end of the week, if not the week after.

The next two books on my list were given to me by my friend. During the summer, we were out shopping and we both bought two books each. I have now read mine, and she has read hers - which means we can swap and read each others. Both books are by Holly Bourne; one is called Am I Normal Yet? and the other is called How Hard Can Love Be? One of my books that I swapped was also by the same author, and I liked the authors writing style. They both follow young adult/teenage girls as they go through different, difficult, life-affecting situations. I found the other book easy to get through, so I can't wait to read these two.

Another book in my to-read list is All the Bright Places which was written by Jennifer Niven. I have been meaning to read this book for a long time now, because I have heard many good reviews of it. I found where my sister put her copy of the book, so I will be able to read that after I have finished the others. I think what I really liked about this book is that it's two main themes are Mental Health and Romance. This is because mental health is an important topic on it's own, but incorporating a romantic love-story into it is something that I find intriguing. The book has two main characters, Finch and Violet, who support each other on their own mental health journey's.

The only Christmas book that I have on my list is actually a book that I got for Christmas last year. However, the only reason that I didn't read it then was because of the amount of books that I received as presents. The book is called The Christmas Surprise and it is by Jenny Colgan. The book is infact the third one in the series, which I didn't know so I may have to find the others before reading it - I'm not sure but we will see. Anyway, the cover of the book is beautiful and the blurb implies that the book is very Christmassy, so that will be a good read for December.

A recent addition to my list is 1984 by George Orwell. I'm not too sure why, but I remember studying Animal Farm in Secondary School. I enjoyed it, and my teacher mentioned this other book. I like the whole concept of it, and I can't wait to read it.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed it.

Signing Off,
