5 Popping Pumpkin ideas

Hey,

It's me, Caitlin. I've been doing some research and found my top-5 pumpkins that I might re-create this year for Halloween. You might think it's a little early, but Friday the 13th is a perfect time to start thinking of how you want your pumpkin to look - especially if you want it to be the best on your street.

My first pick is a classic pumpkin design - a scary face. I've gone for A Nightmare Before Christmas 'Jack Skellington' face, because this can be carved how you like it. You can choose to make it really creepy and scary, or just a weird face. I created this pumpkin a few years ago, and it turned out very well. I didn't have the scariest pumpkin, but I definitely had a nice looking one. If you pick this design, you can use the picture to the right as inspiration.

One idea that I think is very cool, and felt I had to include, even thought I probably don't have the ability to do, is a Day of the Dead pumpkin. There are so many amazing creative and artistic people out there, who have made wonderful designs and pumpkins. The soul idea of this type of pumpkin is to be inspired by the sugar skulls. You could either carve it or paint it. Both look equally amazing. These are a few of my favourites.

Dots and Spots
A very quaint idea that I found whilst searching, was some spots and dots. For this idea, you can't just use your knives, and carving tools as they will give you sharp edges or squares. What you need to do this pumpkin is an electric drill. This will in turn, save time and energy - which will allow you more time to focus on perfecting your Halloween costume. The thought-process behind this is so simple but looks so perfect and cute. This is a good pumpkin to choose if you don't have much time to decorate one.

For you horror fans, and creepy Halloween lovers out there, this idea is one you might consider. I thought this idea was pretty cool, and with a bit of time and precision could be done. Now, depending on the amount of pumpkins you have to do, you may consider to make a full body pumpkin (which if you did I would give you massive props because it looks amazing). However, I would go for the hands or just one hand, considering the amount I have.

This last design is one that I'd never thought of before, and think is an impressive image. An emoji pumpkin. It is a very modern design, so if you're looking for a pumpkin that tells people that you are in the modern age and love an emoji at the end of all your messages, then this is the pumpkin for you. There are many emoji's you could choose, obviously the ghost is one, or you could be ironic and carve a pumpkin into a pumpkin. You could also choose a face - the shocked/surprised emoji to present 'being scared' on Halloween night.

If you do use any of these, or go vogue and design your own from your imaginations - I would love to see what you create.
