Holiday Playlist

Hey,

It's me Caitlin. Today I'm going to be chatting you through my Christmas playlist. These are my most favourite songs to play this time of year. Some are new, some are old. Some are classics, some aren't well known. Please, if you have time and are looking for new music to listen to this Christmas, look up these songs because I'm sure one of them will be for you, if not all then one. However, I feel like most of you should know them all, or at least a version of the song.

The first has to be the classic Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin' Stevens. This catchy song makes you want to move, clap and sing along to it. I've grown up with this song as a classic Christmas song, therefore every time I hear it I feel happy and feel festive. Another couple of classic songs I've always heard at Christmas are Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee,
Happy Xmas (War Is Over) by John Lennon, Step Into Christmas by Elton John, Stop The Cavalry by Jona Lewie and Last Christmas by Wham! However, with this song I have also recently been enjoying Ariana Grande 's version.

Two songs that I love are The Power Of Love by Gabrielle Aplin and Stay Another Day by East 17. These songs were released around Christmas and were in the charts, however they don't mention anything to do with Christmas. Although, The Power of Love, four years ago, was the background track for John Lewis' Christmas advert. This, I think, has made the song have a Christmas feeling to it.

Some songs I like for the jolliness they bring include, All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey, I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday by Wizzard, Drummer Boy by Justin Bieber. These Christmas songs are very uplifting, and have a positive vibe to them. Another song by Justin Bieber that I feel is a lovely song to sing along to at Christmas is Mistletoe. This song is just a sweet idea about young love. Coldplay's Christmas Lights is also a lovely Christmas song.

Two covers by Glee that I like are White Christmas and Baby, It's Cold Outside. Now I'm not saying I don't like the originals of these songs, but they are just really creative and I love the clips of acapella within the songs.

Many versions of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas have been released, and I like quite a lot of them. But my favourite has to be by Judy Garland which is the original from the film Meet Me in St Louis. Another classic christmas song, that has a lot of covers, is It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year by Andy Williams. This song is wonderful for getting in a Christmassy mood.

The charity single Do They Know It's Christmas by Band Aid, including 20 and 30. If you haven't already, I suggest you go and buy any of these, because all the proceeds go to a wonderful cause.

My final, and most favourite Christmas song, is Fairytale of New York by The Pogues ft. Kirsty McCall. For me, this song has so many memories with it and fun Christmas stories to tell.

Let me know any of your favourite christmas songs, or any songs that you're in love with at the moment because I always love discovering new artists.
