Christmas Movie Night

Hey,

It's me Caitlin. Today, I'm going to show you how to have the perfect Christmas movie night. I rounded up a few of my close friends, and this is how it went.

First of all, you will need to set a date, time, place, etc - the general party information. Then you'll need to invite some friends, or family. I think it would be best if you decided on Christmas pyjamas as the set clothing wear, or really tacky Christmas jumpers, or anything else that will make you feel really cosy and festive.

Once you've decided on the place, I chose my living room, you will need to decorate it festively. I would ideally have some lights, and anything else you can find. You might be lucky enough to already have Christmas decorations up in your cosy place.

Before your guests arrive, you will definitely need some snacks and drinks for your move night. I made some Christmas tree brownies, Christmas tree oreos, hot chocolate and non-alcoholic mulled wine. For the Christmas tree brownies, I followed Zoella's Quick & Easy Festive Treats video, you may also like to use some other of her treat ideas. For the Christmas tree oreos, you will need oreos, some pop sticks, white chocolate, green icing, and some sprinkles. First you'll need to take the oreos, dunk them in white chocolate and let them dry. Then, using your green icing, draw a Christmas tree on the oreos, before this sets use your sprinkles to put some decoration on your tree, and don't forget a star for the top of the tree. Finally, for the hot chocolate, I used a typical hot chocolate powder where you add hot water. Although, to make it more festive I added marshmallows and cocoa powder, you could also add some candy canes. I also grabbed a box of celebrations because everyone loves a classic box of chocolates.

Next thing you'll need to do is have your Christmas films  all set out, so you and your friends can decide from them later. A couple of my favourite festive films that I like to watch are Elf, The Polar Express, Deck the Halls, Christmas with the Kranks, Nativity, Home Alone, A Christmas Carol, and of course The Snowman. I brought out a few more films, just for variety and so my friends and I could vote fairly on them. Obviously, you can watch any Christmas film you like, I'm not telling you to watch these, but I do think these films - in my opinion - are some of the best Christmas films.

Finally, you'll have come to the evening of your move night. Now, you and your friends can just cuddle up in blankets, munch on your scrumptious snacks, sip your taste hot chocolate, and enjoy your build up to Christmas. My friends and I also used this time to give each other our Christmas presents. This helped us to feel even more festive.

Let me know if you hold an event like this, and show me if you make any of the snacks because I would love to see how you re-create these treats, and how you interpret my festive evening ideas. I hope, if you do have a movie night you enjoy it.

I wish you a very merry Christmas, and a happy new year!
