End of Year Beauty Favourites

Hey,

It's me Caitlin. Today I'm going to be talking you through my end of year beauty favourites. These include 10 of my favourite makeup, hair products, and skin care products that I've used throughout this year.

The first one I want to mention is Hollister's Winter Daydream. Unfortunately, this body mist was a Hollister Short Run last Christmas, so I don't think you can buy it anymore. However, I'm still going to include it in my favourites for this year. I bought this spray last year because of the scent. Although it's a winter scent, it has a summery vibe to it, which I love because it's different to the normal winter scents. I also really like the pattern of the bottle and the design. I've worn this mist in all seasons, and it's fit perfectly in all of them.

My next favourite is Versace Bright Crystal. My friend bought me this for my birthday last year, and I've worn it for special occasions because it has a really lovely musky scent. The bottle itself is quite simple, but the whole thing together makes it look like a crystal, which works well with the name. In all, I think I'll definitely be wearing this next year.

Moving on to hair products, I only have one to talk about. This is L'oreal Elvive Extradordinary Oil. Now for me, this was a lifesaver when I went on Holiday to North Cyprus in the summer. As a result of the heat, being under direct sunlight constantly, and being dosed daily in chlorine water, my hair wouldn't have survived the holiday if I didn't have this. After washing my hair, I would put this in it to make sure it dried nourished and smooth. Also, I would bring it to the pool  with me, just in case my hair was very dry when sunbathing or after coming out of the pool. I've used it since then, especially if I'm going to use heated products on my hair, to make sure it doesn't become damaged. I would highly recommend this oil, because it lasts a long time, as you don't need much of it, and it works so well.

From the selection of moisturisers, I've been loving Zoella's Wonder Hand. I never really used hand cream enough, but after discovering this I've had it tucked into my bag, for whenever I need. I just love the design, and the colours make me actually want to use it. This one is a recent purchase, because I ran out of my previous one. I also love how she's included empowering quotes on the inside of her products.

Staying on the topic of moisturising creams, one I've loved for my skin, is Victoria's Secret's Passion Struck  Body Butter. My friend bought me this for my birthday and I've been using it since. Applying this after every shower keeps my body smelling lovely and feeling smooth. I'm in love with this scent, and I highly recommend if you can get your hands on this, then you should. Also, the colour scheme and floral pattern help to just emphasise my love for this product.

Still sort of in the group of creams, I've been loving The Body Shop's Shea Lip Butter. To me, this lip product smells strangely similar to play-doh. However, I can get over this and see pass it because the butter is so good for keeping my lips moisturised. It is also a handbag size, so you can keep it in your bag for when you need to re-apply.

Moving on to makeup, the foundation I've used this year has been Rimmel's Match Perfection. The one I have has almost finished because I've used it every time I've gone to wear makeup. For me, I feel that it gives a good coverage, and it's also a drugstore product so it doesn't cost too much. I would feel comfortable with purchasing another one of these bottles for 2017 because I like the coverage that it gives, however, if you want your face to be thickly covered in foundation - I wouldn't advise this product for you.

I've been obsessed this year, trying to get the perfect eyeliner on the top lid. I've tried many different products to see the outcome, how easy to use they were, and how long they lasted for. Now, surprisingly, the best one for me was Make Up Gallery's Pro Liquid Eyeliner. This eyeliner lasts a long time, is easy to use, and it lasts for the length of time I need. This can be up to 12-14 hours, depending on what I was doing. I am thoroughly impressed with this liner and would recommend for everyone to use it.

Just recently, I've gotten into the highlighting phase, that magnified this year. One that I now swear by is Sleek's Highlighting Palette Solstice. The palette comes with four different rectangles of highlight. On the original packaging there are instructions on where to put each one, which I follow. But you could just use what ones you like. I'm also in love with the packaging. The palette is a mirrored gold colour, which sticks with the outer space theme. The different highlighters also have space names - Ecliptic, Hemisphere, Subsolar and Equinox.

Finally, I obviously needed a way to take off this makeup. For the most of the year, I was using Garnier's generic Micellar Cleansing Water. Now I use Garnier's Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water which helps with sensitive skin. I enjoy using this because it is cooling for the skin, as well as gently removing my makeup.

Let me know any of your favourites from this year, and if you've used any of these products before.

Have fun bringing in the new year! Hope you have a wonderful start to 2017!
